When the north stars left Minnesota we did not have a hockey team for seven years. We joined the NHL in 1997 and had our first game on October 6 2000. When we had our first game we went against the Anaheim ducks and they won 3-1. The Wild started off as a replacement but now they are a Minnesota icon.
